Our Story
We started in college, building Huxli, a study tool that grew to serve 350,000 students. Along the way, we noticed teachers using it in ways we hadn't anticipated. They weren't just checking answers. They were trying to understand how their students were thinking.
That observation reframed everything. The problem wasn't summative assessment. It was formative assessment. The practice that research proves works is too time-intensive to sustain. Instructors want to check understanding continuously, but grading every written response, every draft, every attempt doesn't scale. So most don't. And by the time misunderstandings surface, it's too late to address them.
AI made a different model possible. Instructors can now see what students understand and where their reasoning breaks down, the moment responses come in, without spending hours grading.
StarQuiz exists to make that model practical.
"Formative assessment works. The problem was always time. StarQuiz centers AI at the center of solving this issue."
